# Print invoices from your Shopify admin

> Print invoices or packing slips from Shopify's own order pages, without opening the app.

Use this guide if you work from Shopify's **Orders** page and want to print an invoice without switching to Invoice Falcon. By the end, you can print one order or many from Shopify's **Print** menu, and jump to an order's invoice page in Invoice Falcon in one click.

## Before you begin

- These shortcuts are added to your Shopify admin when you install Invoice Falcon. There's nothing to turn on.
- Printing from Shopify uses your Invoice Falcon templates, including your default template for orders.
- To email an invoice or edit it, use the **More actions** shortcut to open the order in Invoice Falcon.

## Choose your setup

| Use this | When |
|---|---|
| **Print** > **Invoice Print Action** on an order | You want to print one order's invoice or packing slip. |
| **Print** > **Invoice Print Action (Orders)** on the Orders list | You want to print several orders in one go, each on its own page. |
| **More actions** > **Send or Print Invoice** on an order | You want to email, edit or regenerate the invoice in Invoice Falcon. |
| **More actions** > **Send or Print Quote** on a draft order | You want to email or print the quote in Invoice Falcon. |

## What customers will see

Nothing. Printing doesn't email the customer or change the order.

## Set it up

### Print one order

1. In your Shopify admin, click **Orders** and open the order.
2. At the top of the order page, click **Print**, then click **Invoice Print Action**. A print window opens with a preview.
3. Optional: under **Template**, click the radio button of the template you want, for example your packing slip. Your default is marked **(default)**. The **Template** list only appears when you have more than one template.
4. Click **Print** in the window.

### Print several orders

1. In your Shopify admin, click **Orders**.
2. Tick the checkboxes next to the orders you want.
3. In the bar that appears, click **Print**, then click **Invoice Print Action (Orders)**.
4. Optional: under **Template**, pick the template. Every selected order prints with it.
5. Click **Print** in the window. Each order prints on its own page.

The template you pick applies to this print only. Your default doesn't change. See [Rename a template and set a default](https://help.invoicefalcon.com/set-a-default-template/).

### Open an order in Invoice Falcon

1. In your Shopify admin, open the order.
2. Click **More actions** at the top of the page, then click **Send or Print Invoice**.

The order's page in Invoice Falcon opens, where you can print, email, edit or regenerate the invoice. For a draft order, click **More actions**, then **Send or Print Quote**. See [Send quotes for draft orders](https://help.invoicefalcon.com/send-quotes-for-draft-orders/).

## Check your setup

1. Open a test order in Shopify and click **Print** > **Invoice Print Action**.
2. Check that the preview shows your logo and layout.
3. Pick your packing slip under **Template** and check that the preview changes.

## Troubleshooting

### I don't see Invoice Print Action in the Print menu

Check that Invoice Falcon is still installed, then reload the order page in Shopify. On the Orders list, the option only appears after you tick at least one order. If it's still missing, contact support.

### The Template list isn't shown

It only appears when your store has more than one template. With one template, that template is printed.

### The print uses the wrong template

The print window starts on your default template for orders. Pick another under **Template**, or [change your default](https://help.invoicefalcon.com/set-a-default-template/).

### Some selected orders are missing from the print

Invoice Falcon skips any order it can't read from Shopify. Print the missing orders from their own order page, or from the **Orders** list in Invoice Falcon.

## FAQ

### Is this the same invoice as the one in Invoice Falcon?

Yes. It uses the same invoice and the same templates. Edits you made with **Edit invoice** show up in the print too.

### Can I email an invoice from Shopify's order page?

Not directly. Click **More actions** > **Send or Print Invoice** to open the order in Invoice Falcon, then use the **Send** menu there. See [Email an invoice to a customer](https://help.invoicefalcon.com/email-an-invoice/).

### What do Send or Print Invoice and Send or Print Invoices do on the Orders list?

They open Invoice Falcon's **Orders** page. The orders you selected in Shopify aren't carried over, so select them again there. To print several orders without leaving Shopify, use **Print** > **Invoice Print Action (Orders)** instead.

### Can I print packing slips this way?

Yes. Pick your packing slip template under **Template** in the print window. See [Print packing slips](https://help.invoicefalcon.com/print-packing-slips/).
