Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- You need to be able to install apps in your Shopify admin.
- Have your logo file ready (an image up to 500KB), plus your business name, address and tax number if you want them on invoices.
- Automatic sending only covers orders placed after you turn it on. Older orders can be sent in bulk later.

Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”The invoice shows my Shopify address, not my business details
Open Business details in the visual editor, fill in the fields, and click Save changes. Empty fields always fall back to your Shopify store details.
The invoice doesn't use the design I picked
The design isn’t the default template for orders. Click Templates in the app’s menu, click the button in the Default for column next to your template, and choose Orders. See Rename a template and set a default.
My browser blocked the invoice tab
Click Open invoice PDF in the message that appears, or allow pop-ups for your Shopify admin.
The test order didn't get an invoice email
Check that Send invoices automatically shows On in Settings on the Emails tab, and that the order has a customer email. Then see Troubleshoot invoice emails.
Do I have to finish every step?
No. Only picking a plan is required. You can print and email invoices with the default template straight away, and come back to design and automation later.
Will my existing orders get invoices emailed when I turn on automatic sending?
No. Only orders placed after you turn it on are sent. To send invoices for older orders, see Email invoices in bulk.
Can I make quotes and packing slips too?
Yes. Draft orders get quotes, and every order can have a packing slip. See Send quotes for draft orders and Print packing slips.
Can customers download invoices themselves?
Yes. You can add a download link to Shopify’s order confirmation email, or a download button to the customer account. See Add an invoice link to the order confirmation email and Let customers download invoices from their account.
Does testing count toward the Free plan's monthly limit?
Opening an order to preview its invoice doesn’t count. Printing, downloading or emailing it does, once per order. See How the monthly invoice limit works.
