Print packing slips
Print a packing slip for an order by picking your packing slip template.
Last updated
Use this guide if you want a packing slip to put in the box with an order. By the end, you’ll have a printed packing slip that lists the items and the shipping address, without prices.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- Packing slips use their own template. New stores get one called Default packing slip. Stores that moved from the older version of Invoice Falcon have Classic packing slip. You’ll find it in Templates.
- Packing slips are on every plan. On the Free plan, printing a packing slip counts toward your monthly limit of 50 orders, but an order you already printed or emailed an invoice for doesn’t count again. See How the monthly invoice limit works.
- A packing slip can’t be set as a default the way invoices can. You pick the packing slip template each time you print.
What customers will see
Section titled “What customers will see”The packing slip only reaches the customer in the box. It shows your logo and address, the shipping address, order details such as the order number, and each item with its quantity. The default packing slip leaves out prices and totals, so it’s safe to include in the package.
To change what it shows, open the packing slip template in Templates and edit it in the visual editor. See Customize a template in the visual editor.
Set it up
Section titled “Set it up”Print a packing slip for one order
Section titled “Print a packing slip for one order”- Open your Shopify admin and click Invoice Falcon in the left menu.
- Click Orders in the app’s menu.
- Click the order number in the Order # column. The order’s page opens.
- In the Templates sidebar on the right, click the radio button next to your packing slip template, for example Default packing slip. The preview changes to the packing slip.
- Above the preview, open the Actions menu and click Print. The packing slip opens in a new tab.

Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”The packing slip shows prices
You most likely printed with an invoice template. Check that your packing slip template is the one selected in the Templates sidebar before you click Print. Default packing slip never shows prices.
I printed an invoice instead of a packing slip
The Orders list icons always print your default invoice template. Print packing slips from the order’s page after picking the packing slip in the Templates sidebar, or choose the packing slip in the Template dropdown for bulk printing.
I don't see a packing slip template
Check the full list on the Templates page. If you deleted it, contact support to get it back. New designs from Create template are invoice designs, not packing slips.
I want two different packing slips
Open your packing slip template in Templates, open More actions, and click Duplicate. Edit the copy, then pick whichever one you need in the Templates sidebar when you print.
Can I make the packing slip print by default?
No. Defaults can be set for orders, draft orders and credit notes only. Pick the packing slip template each time you print.
Does printing a packing slip change the invoice?
No. The invoice and its number stay the same. The packing slip is the same order shown with a different template.
Can I print a packing slip from the Shopify order page?
Yes. On the order in your Shopify admin, click Print, choose Invoice Print Action, and pick your packing slip under Template. See Print invoices from your Shopify admin.
Can I add product images or SKUs to the packing slip?
Yes. Open the packing slip template in Templates and turn on the product details you want in the visual editor. See Show product details on invoices.
